A wealth of information and formal study has been conducted on the financial habits of Mexican immigrants in the U.S. indicating they pay high remittance fees, are largely unbanked, and have limited internet access. As a result, they cannot benefit from financial services and security offered by banks and miss out on cheaper remittances services and information found online.

Remás aspires to three over-arching goals: financial literacy, improved convenience for remitting, and community development. By intervening before immigrants arrive at the money transfer operator, Remás is well positioned to make a significant positive impact.
